Sandton is considered the new financial hub for Johannesburg. Sandton continues to reign as the most important financial and business district in South Africa, and arguably sub-Saharan Africa. It has been such since 1990 when the mass exodus to the northern suburb first began, and Sandton became known not only as a materialistic centre, but as a refuge of the ‘white flight’ from Johannesburg’s CBD.
Sandton is an affluent area situated within the metro of Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. The name comes from the combination of two of its suburbs, Sandown and Bryanston.
The district of Fourways is the fastest-developing commercial and residential hub in the northern, South Africa. The main access routes to Fourways are off the N1 at William Nicol Road, or alternatively along Witkoppen or the R511. Hartebeespoort Dam and the Magaliesburg Mountains lie half an hour to the North West. It is bordered by Bryanston to the East and South and Randburg to the West.
